He walked up to her and held her shoulders softly. It probably wasn't the best thing to do, just suddenly appear before her. But, her unhappiness was bothering him and he wanted to stop it for her. It was strange to suddenly worry about the well being of another. Especially one so different than him.
"If I tell you, you promise to answer my question?" he asked.
"What the fuck are you talking about!? What are you doing!?"
He didn't bother to wait for her to answer. He was suddenly filled with the urge to reveal his identity, his ability, his past. Jarek might not go so far as to reveal every little thing, but he could deny the need to be with Emma a second longer.
"I'm a witch and I just happened to know how to teleport, for lack of a better term," he said.

It all sounded so funny. Him being a witch. She chuckled a little bit, from the alcohol, and looked at him. He had confessed to her. He was a witch. Wait. What if this was some sort of trap? Emma wondered and jerked away from him.
"Why can't you people just leave me alone?!" She yelled. "You witches already dealt with me enough!"
She hated witches. Maybe not hate but she certainly didn't want to get involved right now. If this was some trick to make her ache even more she was not going to take this lightly.
"She got what she wanted!" Emma yelled. "And its almost my twenty first birthday! I didn't mean to! Okay, just leave me alone!"
Emma sat on her couch, with her back facing Jarek. She couldn't trust him yet. Not after what the last witch did to her.

Jarek went to approach her, but heard the humming again. She'd just told him that she had had a run in with another witch. From the sound of it, it wasn't a pleasant one. He knew that older witches didn't like to be bothered, annoyed, or upset by humans. She must have done something to piss one off, leaving her with a curse or spell.
"I'm sorry if I upset you," he said sincerely. "I'll leave you to your alcohol and music."
And with that, the electricity came back on, her music started bumping from the stereo, and he was gone. He appeared outside of her house, looking up at the door as if she was standing there looking back.
What had he been thinking? He'd just revealed himself to someone he barely knew. Not to mention the fact that he had just crashed and burned.
It was a curse she had surrounding her. One that would either end or seal her fate forever on her 21st birthday. There were only a few curses that behaved like that. He didn't want to ask her anymore about it because it was obvious that she didn't trust him or anyone like him.
Then why did he feel terrible? Why did he feel like he needed to help her? Why?

Emma listened to her music and sat there for a minute. It hadn't been long since he supposedly left, but maybe he wasn't out to get her. Perhaps this was a good witch. Emma turned down her music so that the neighbors couldn't hear it. Today she didn't want to be left alone with her alcohol and favorites. She wanted to be with someone; an actual person. Though Jarek shouldn't be here when her mother comes home. If her mother found out what Jarek was she would be pissed. Even then, Emma didn't care. She walked out of the living room and stood at the front door. She stared at the white paint for a few and just listened. She felt like he was staring back at her, which perhaps he was. Emma wrapped her hand around the door knob and opened the front door. And there he was; just standing there. Like she had thought. Emma stepped out but kept the door opened a crack. She had the sudden urge to tell him everything but she knew that she couldn't. Maybe he wanted to help her. Maybe he could undo this curse. The thoughts made Emma excited.
"Are you good or..." Emma let him decide what else she was going to say.

Jarek was surprised when the door opened and she was standing there. He was just about to leave and take a walk to be alone with his thoughts.
"Or...evil? Well, it depends on my mood," he said with a cocky smile. "But my mischief stays innocent, for the most part."
He looked directly at her for a moment before he started walking back up to the door. He didn't want to push her too far, but he figured he might be able to give her some answers about the curse she had.
The closer he got, the louder the humming became. He could even seen a distinctive flicker around her. He had a feeling that the curse was from an older witch. But not much older than he.
"Do you want to ask more questions?" he asked.

Emma thought for a moment. She needed to know what she was getting into. She trusted him more than she trusted anyone at this point and time. Besides Rachel. Then Emma looked at him and nodded. She wanted to know more than she knew.
"I do," Emma said. "Can you please come in?"

He held back a smile as she finally gave in. But he was elated that she wanted him to help her. He was also confused about the fact that he was happy to help.
Jarek slipped his hands into the pockets of his jacket and strolled up the walk to the door. He stood there for a moment, close to her, but not awkwardly.
"You can ask me whatever you want. I'll tell you," he said.

Emma was slightly scared. She nodded at him and opened the door more so that he could come inside. What if he couldn't help her? Emma hoped that he could. She let him inside and closed the door behind him.
"Do you want anything to drink?" Emma asked him. "I mean, I have other drinks than alcohol."

He almost asked for a drink, but thought better of it. If he was going to answer all her questions, then he needed to be cleared headed.
"I'm good. I'm here to answer your questions, Emma," he said softly. "Whatever ones you have."
Then, a thought crossed his mind. One of the most annoying things a human could ask of a witch. A demonstration of power. He hoped she wouldn't ask him to fly on a broom or make the dishes start washing themselves.
"Just, please don't be immature about them, that's all I ask. I'll answer whatever you ask, but try to keep them important," he said with a smile.
Jarek took a seat in the living room and waited for her to join him, as well as the flow of questions that would soon fill their time.

Emma put the alcohol away and then joined him. She sat down on the couch and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. She listened to him as he requested her to ask important questions and not silly ones. Emma believed him; his secret. Her chest rose and subsided. This had never happened before. What to ask. Emma thought for a moment. The house seemed even more empty with him here. Maybe that was just her feeling awkward.
"Why do you want to know that I'm sad?" Emma asked. "I mean, you're the only person who really sees me when I'm upset besides my parents..." She paused. "I mean that's a stupid question. How long have you been a witch?"
She felt so awkward. Emma kind of felt like she was with a counselor more than a friend. She wondered why he stayed or why he followed her. She had a lot of questions but didn't know how to ask them.

He went to answer her first question without thinking, but she quickly changed her question, so he remained silent.
She was always upset and he had seemed to show up to a lot of those moments recently. Was it so wrong to wonder why she was upset? But if she didn't want to talk about it right now, then he would respect that.
As for her next question, he was a little reluctant to respond. So, he opted for an answer that was vague.
"I've been a witch since I was born," he replied.
He didn't specify that he was born over 300 years ago. How would you tell someone that anyway? She would be the first.
He couldn't just say, "By the way, I'm 378 years old."

((blah sorry i must of replied when i was half asleep))
Emma nodded and then thought for a moment. She didn't know what else to ask him. All these years she had been cursed she had questions and now that she was finally able to ask them she couldn't remember her questions. She looked at Jarek and sighed. "Do you know how to remove a curse?" She asked. "I can't tell you what it is...It's physically impossible for me to say. The witch that cursed me won't let me explain." Emma looked down.

He perked a brow at her request and then explanation. A removal of another witch's curse was impossible. But if there was a chance that he could, she couldn't help him out anyway.
"If I don't know what the curse is for, I don't know if I can help," he replied softly. "No curse is irreversible. But, it's usually up to the cursed to remove it."
Jarek looked at her, still hearing the annoying humming sound that now made complete sense.
"Could you tell me what happened that got you cursed in the first place?" he asked.

Guilt engulfed her when she thought about the question he asked. Emma looked down, ashamed. She wasn't proud of it and because of it, she tried to be a better person. She didn't want to tell him, but if it would help her then she had to. Right? Emma took a deep breath and looked at him. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and fixed her bangs. It helped ease her nerves. She thought about how to tell him and began.
"I'm not proud of it." Emma said. "And because of it I have tried to be a better person; ya know, nicer." She paused. "I think I have done a pretty good job of it so far. I pretend that I'm happy and help others." Emma sighed. "And I do that because...I don't want to offend anyone again. She was an ugly old hag and I...I expressed my feelings to her." Emma looked up at him. "In a not so pleasant way." She shrugged. "I guess I got what I deserve though, right?" She asked. Emma turned her head, waiting for him to agree with her.

Jarek sighed.
"Well, that's not for me to decide, but you probably shouldn't have said that, regardless of if she was a witch or not," he replied.
He leaned forward and looked at the floor before he spoke again.
"So, you attacked her looks verbally," he stated. "Usually, the most common choices for curses would be to make you ugly, make you incapable of perceiving beauty, or, if you really pissed her off, she went old school."
Jarek looked up at Emma and smiled, "You're not ugly and I've seen you stare at guys before...but never have I seen you with someone for very long."
He bit his lip and thought for a moment.
"Am I on the right track?"
