The Boarding School

[Miss Gates]

Jamie took a deep breath in and then blew it out. She took a sip of her soda and then looked at Kerry.

"How long have you been here?"she asked her.

"Since birth. My mother was headmaster for 12 years and now they're both professors."

[cosmicbreaker]

Sirus chuckled. "Ah, if you know what you're doing, then classes will not be... that difficult." He looked around, and saw the two other girls as well. He chomped down on a piece of meat, and looked at Nathan. "So... Why are you here?" he asked curiously.

[Atticus]

Nathan finished off his drink "My dad sent me to this place thinking that i couldn't control my powers just because i let myself go just once.....i hate my dad so much......anyway now tell me why are you here?" he asked eating abit of his meal.

[Miss Gates]

Jamie was interested. "Thats cool,"she said. "Is the headmaster your mother? Or is that a new headmaster now?"

Sirus raised a brow at his new roommate. "Isn't it obvoius? I'm a half-wolf- the result of an exeriment gone wrong." he paused for a moment, unsure of whether he should continue or not. But, pressed on anyways. "My parents donated me to research when I was young. It was an injection that was to give elderly or weak humans more reflexive energy and youth by injecting the DNA of a wolf mixed with several other medicinal drugs."

Sirus took a sip of the soda he'd purchased. "Needless to say, it was a mixed result. While I did aquire the strength and reflexes of a wolf, I also obtainted some of the physical traits of one as well. It was a failure in their eyes."

"... And here I am."

"No,"Kerry said. "That's Matthew's Aunt Vivian. He's an old alumni. Graduated two or three years ago."

Kerry looked at the ceiling. Her eyes clouded over with memory.

[Miss Gates]

Jamie looked at Kerry. "Oh,"she said. "Thats cool. Its nice that you know the place"

[Atticus]

Nathan looked at the table then looked back up "thats terrible i thought i had it bad geez i hate sick people like that" he said getting slightly mad.

Kerry jumped out of her trance. "I have to go." she said abruptly. She ran out the cafeteria, down the hall, up the stairs, and into her room. She flopped onto the bed and grabbed her suit case. Shuffling things around to find what she was looking for she came across a letter as well. "How curious." she said. She looked at the picture she had been looking for. It was pinned to the letter.

Dear Kerry,
I'm sorry I can't give you a return address. I'm ok here and hope school's doing good. I miss you. I won't be home for a really long time but can't tell you why. I'm really sorry I left with no notice.

Kerry let herself go and cried so hard that she didn't hear the door open.

Jamie threw out her food and ran after Kerry. She seemed shaken up a little. Jamie ran to the dorm and reached her room. She opened the door slowly and saw Kerry crying. She sat next to Kerry and put an arm around her.

"Kerry,"she said out of breath. "Whats wrong?"

Jamie felt bad for her new friend and wanted to know what was going on. If she could fix things or make things better. Jamie sighed.

"You can tell me."she added.

"You wouldn't get it. Even if I told you. I bet Nathan got a kick out of it though. He loves to see me miserable." Kerry took a deep breath. "I'll be ok." She stood up. "I'm going to the library. You wanna come with?""

[Miss Gates]

Jamie looked at Kerry and nodded. "Sure."she said.

Then she looked at the ground and then at Kerry again.

"I may not get it,"she said. "But you can't hold it in. Its not good for you. I should know, and you should know too considering what your power is."

"I told you I'm fine. Or at least I will be." Kerry left before another word could be uttered by Jamie

Jamie sighed and followed Kerry out of the room.

"Sorry." she thought.
