The creatures that we know in legends and folklore don't always appear in this world because they were sent to another universe. Vampires, werewolves, mermaids, fairies, and many more creatures were taken by a powerful group of people and placed inside another universe. The group of powers couldn't destroy the creatures so they were banished instead. The creatures were banished into another dimension known as, "The Forgotten Universe".
