The sun had fallen and it became night. I knew what this meant. This meant I had to say goodbye. There was an alien race demanding my presence. I had no idea why, but apparently the government had befriended this particular race for a long time. No one really knew how long the aliens were friends with us, but the aliens had always been honorable in the past.
The aliens had no name for their race. Their bodies were gray and large. They reminded me of a manatee from the pictures that the government provided. I was not able to meet them until I was on board their ship. My best friend was in tears. I was never going to see her again. My parents were struct with sadness. The aliens wanted 30 years of my life. Then I was going to return safely to earth.
The government said that as long as I cooperated that I would be returned home. My life would be forever changed and different, but the planet would be safe. The aliens threatened that if I did not board the ship, then they would destroy the whole planet. It was either stay on earth and die with everyone or leave with the aliens and everyone live.
I knew what I had to do. I finished saying goodbye to my best friends and I give my family one more hug. There was a knock at the door. I walked to the front door and opened it. There was a black SUV with several men in suits. It was the government. I sighed heavily. The government said that they would see me again in about 30 years. I got into the vehicle and was escorted to the landing sight.
The ship was beautiful. There were no words to describe it. It was the most technological designed spacecraft that I had ever seen. The SUV stopped in front of the ship. I closed my eyes and opened the door. This was going to be the last time for a long time that I would be on earth. I wondered if I would miss anything other than the people that I loved.
I slowly walked towards the spacecraft. Fear washed over me. I had no idea what I was getting into. Even after all this time, the government still had no name for this alien race. The only thing that I was told was that they picked the humans by a dream. There's one alien in high power who has prophetic dreams. Only a certain kind of human was chosen by these aliens.
As I grew closer to the spacecraft, the door opened. There was a bright, white light. It was very cliche, but I walked towards the ramp. I walked up the ramp and turned around. I had to take one last look at earth before I couldn't see it anymore. Then I turned back around and walked into the spacecraft. Once inside the spacecraft, the ramp closed, and the ship took off.
I was in a complete white room. There was no one there. It was eerily quiet. Then, the walk in front of me separated into a doorway. There were two human like creatures that stepped towards me. There was a man and a woman. They were both wearing white, but the clothes were outlined in blue. I was a little startled. They both had clipboards and the humans were extremely good looking. The woman had long blonde hair and had pale skin. Her eyes were blue and her hair was pulled into a bun. There were even a pair of glasses that sat upon her nose.
The male was clean shaven and had short brown hair. He had deep brown eyes with tan skin. He reminded me of a body builder almost, but he shaped his muscles beautifully. I was a little taken aback. I felt so normal looking compared to these strangers. Tension filled the room when finally one of them spoke.
"Hello, and welcome to our home." the woman said. "My name is Saima and this is Quinn."
"You guys are human." I said surprisingly.
Saima shook her head and smiled. "No, our bodies can transform into many creatures." She paused. "We wanted to give you some sense of familiarity while aboard our ship."
"We have many things to do." Quinn said. "We need to correct you first."
"Correct me?" I asked.
My heart suddenly raced in my chest. Whatever they meant by correct, it did not sound good. I did not want to go through with this all of a sudden. I was scared. Fear filled my mind. They were going to kill me! I was never going home again! I am a sacrifice for earth! I took a step back and Saima raised her hand.
"Now, now Erin." She said. "Calm down. It's not what you think."
I took more steps back. "What do you mean correct me?" I asked. "You guys said you needed me because of my skills."
"That is true, but we don't want your defects to affect our children." Seela explained. "You're here to use your empathic abilities to teach our children emotions. However, we don't want you to be infected by us either. The reason why we correct you is so that you can become immune to all earth illnesses. Whatever you may have been born with will be removed and be perfected into an amazing human being."
"How does it work?" I asked.
Quinn walked towards me. He placed his hand on my back and escorted me towards the doorway. Seela also joined Quinn with her hand on my back. I did not feel comfortable. I felt like I was being violated. I had no choice in the matter. I was afraid if I did not agree with them then I would be killed. I didn't want to be killed. I had no choice. I was escorted down a hallway and at the end of the hallway there was a gray door.
The door opened and revealed another room. This room appeared to be covered in cement. There was a chair in the middle of the room. There was a machine above the chair that was round and had wires sticking out of it. It reminded me of a cap. I shook my head.
"Please no," I begged. "I don't want to get hurt."
"We promise you this painless and it only takes a matter of seconds." Quinn said with an annoyed tone in his voice.
They pushed me towards the chair. There were straps. I was terrified. I didn't know what was going to happen. What else would happen to me in this chair? I had no idea. Both Quinn and Saima strapped me to the chair. I struggled a little; I couldn't help it. I felt like I had to run. I had to get out of there.
