Thia High School

[Nightlily]

Well, there she was, lying on the ground, wet and unable to get up. It was now she realized how foolish it was, 'It might have worked... If I had tried hard enough.' She rolled her eyes at the whole idea, being able to bend elements without incantations. Only the very best could do it. 'Where I really went wrong though was saying anything.'

Insira went back to it again. She was next to the lake, concentrating on the water. Concentrating with all her might she stared at it willing it to move. Finally it slipped out, “Damn...” Next thing she knew the water came out of the lake and hit the right side of her body hard. Her right shoulder hit the ground and hurt immensely, while on the other hand her left ankle twisted so bad she could not move it.

Looking around there were not many options since she could not get up on her own. She saw a bunny and told it to please find her help. Now all she could do was hope not to get hypothermia and wait to see who the bunny brought back, if any one.

 Saniron sighed as he stared deeply into his white gold trigram pendant. Everyday thoughts swirled around in his head about how he should’ve saved his sister all those years ago. After another deep look at his pendant and another sigh he put the pendant back under his garments and continued with his day.

Saniron headed to the wishing well near his school that was enchanted with the three light sages ancient power. Once there he decided to practice his advanced placement healing homework in which he had to perform a complete flesh healing spell. The spell was nothing to him ( as most spells he learned in school were ) “Argh, it’s too easy, why doesn’t school ever give me a challenge I mean this is supposed to be advanced placement, by the sages of light a complete novice could do these spells why would they give them as advanced spells.”

 Saniron, fed up with the simplicity of his classes, decided it was time to head home. Right as Saniron was about to leave the well he found himself confronted by a bunny that was looking up at him with a distressed look. For a while he simply ignored him and continued walking but the bunny was persistent so Saniron gave up and followed him.

 As he followed the bunny he sensed some sort of distress by how quickly he was moving. When the bunny finally came to a halt at a girl lying on the ground looking hurt and cold. The girl looked familiar to Saniron but that thought passed when he quickly realized something was wrong with her leg, he used one of the more advanced healing spells he knew on her ankle. Then he moved on to the shoulder which he used another healing spell on. She looked slightly disoriented so Saniron lifted her up slowly and put his jacket around her. “How are you feeling, are you alright?” Saniron said in a calm voice, he had hoped she had enough energy to reply.

Insira was shocked as the bunny brought back someone from her school. She was speechless as he healed her ankle and shoulder. After he leaned her up she finally found her voice, "Thank you." She smiled at him. Her eyes examined him and she realized that he was in the same year as her, although he was not in her class.

"I am alright... I just..." She looked into his eyes and frowned a bit. "I mean we all know the tales, of people that can use the different kinds of magic without incantations I thought maybe, I could if I tried hard enough... But at last, I can't." She looked down.

"Then again though," Insira looked up at the sky and smiled wide, "Maybe one day I can!" Turning to him she said enthusiastically, "You know? Well anyway though, thank you for saving me."

Saniron was glad to know that she was going to be alright. "It's nothing, you looked seriously injured" Saniron said ." Using magic without incantations is one of the hardest things to do in Anthia, I mean I've just started learning to do more basic ones and it's insanely difficult, so don't feel down about not being able to do it, I'm sure you will learn them in time."Saniron said with a nervous smile as he wondered if he was giving her false hope but he wasn't going to kill her spirits while she was injured and she looked fairly skilled in magic.

"Well I'm happy you're okay. I'm impressed at your ability to communicate with animals so well. Anyways though I was headed home, we could walk home together to make sure that you're injuries have healed enough, I mean if you wanted to." Saniron said. Although he felt bad for her, he was somewhat intrigued that something interesting had happened.

"Sure! I live up in the white city, do you live near there?" Insira had never seen anyone talk to this boy, so she would really like to know more about him, also in a way he had just saved her. She did not even know people could fully heal sprains at their age. For that matter, she did not even know his name. Smiling she stood up, "Thank you for your jacket, but..." She took it off and handed it to him. "Selese." She said as she spun around and the water on her evaporated. "My name is Insira by the way." She held out her hand.

Saniron reached out his hand to shake hers " I'm Saniron, It's nice to meet you, though the circumstances under which we met weren't ideal I live at an apartment near the white city so my home shouldn't be to far from where you live" Saniron thought they were probably in the same school so as they were walking back he asked " Where are you going to school right now? I'm currently attending Theia Highschool on my third year."

Insira giggled a bit, he obviously did not recognize her, although that was not surprising as it seemed he always had his head stuck in a book. "I am in 3rd year at Thia too, B class. I am assuming you are in A as you are always reading?" She grinned having known slightly more about him then he did about her.

Saniron knew she looked familiar and now realized he had seen her around the campus a few times. "Oh yeah" Saniron said looking around nervously. "I'm in class A, it's nothing special really." Saniron wondered if she thought he was a complete nerd by her comment about how he was always reading. To show Insira that he was not just some nerd Saniron said "You know how you couldn't do those spells without incantations? Well...I...I...Could teach you how I do it if you want, I know Elemental and Light magic are really different but I figure I could at least help you out a bit." Saniron realized that this didn't really make him seem like any less of a nerd but it may make Insira find him more interesting.

Insira froze. She turned to Saniron, "Would you really do that?!" If someone was willing to help her she knew she could do it. Although... How Saniron could do it in the first place was truly amazing in itself. She looked at him admiringly.

Saniron half smiled at Insira. "Sure we could practice in one of the club rooms after school, what days could you practice on?" Strangely enough he decided to help this person he had just met. He'd usually enjoy being alone, but it would be good for him to know at least one person in the school.

Insira thought for a moment, "I could do Mondays, Wednesdays, are Fridays. Do any of those work for you?" She put her hands behind her back and starting walking again. It was so nice outside and she just loved looking up at the clouds and trying to find shapes in them. One of them looked like a t-rex, she giggled to herself.

"I could do Fridays, we could meet up in the empty Light Literature club room, does that work for you?." Saniron looked down and thought to himself for a second. "What made you want to learn to do spells without incantations?" Saniron asked curiously.

"Well, you know, it's the stuff of legends. Also being able to do magic without anyone knowing would be awesome, and probably useful at some point." She looked at him admiringly. "Does anyone else know you can do it?"
