"Shea! Shea, where are you?! Goddammit, boy, I swear to God I'll--"
"Swear to God you'll what?" Shea Madoc cut his boss off with a coy smile as he sidled out of the break room, tying his brown apron around his slender waist. The large man frowned, his brow creasing as he grumbled something about cleaning the counters before closing. Still smiling quietly, the teen took up the rag and cleaner and began to wipe down the glossy black surfaces of the counter.
It was nearly closing time at the small coffee shop the young man worked at, the sun having gone down long ago. Not that Shea minded. He rather liked it this way: no one around to pester him, to shoot him scathing looks out the corners of their eyes when they thought he wasn't looking, to question the bruises still riddling his body...
The sound of a bell rang through the shop, signaling someone was entering through the main doors. "Sorry, sir, but we're closed," Shea started to say before turning around and laying his eyes on exactly who had walked into the humble little coffee shop so late into the day. The sight he beheld nearly took his breath away.

The moonlight shone against his pale skin, illuminating his features. His bright amethyst irises flickered to Shea and a sly smile formed on his face. He was very surprised that Shea was here. Humanity was all over him, but there was something different...Ah the bite scars on his left side of neck indicated that he was a blood whore. Cain walked over to him smoothly and sexy. He knew he was hot and he knew that Shea thought he was hot. The coffee shop wasn't too bad. He thought it was ironic though since this city was a safe place for vampires. The only humans that were allowed in the city were blood whores like Shea. Shea was cute, Cain had to admit. His hunger burned inside his throat like a fire. He hacked a cough and leaned against the counter.
"I'm sorry cutie," Cain said hoarsely. "I'm just looking for a bite." He winked.

Shea regained just enough control on himself to flash the customer his sweetest smile, leaning against the counter. "Oh, really now?" he purred innocently, lowering the lids on his dark eyes ever so slightly. "Well, that's going to cost you, you know."
Damn. That was the only word the young human could use to apply to this vampire. Everything about this man was turning him on. Shea had long known he was attracted to men, vampires in particular, and while he had seen his fair share of handsome bloodsucking fellows in his line of work (besides his cover as a barista), this particular vampire was by far the most handsome example of male specimen he had ever laid eyes on. That worried him slightly. Shea was cute, he was certain of that. Many of his customers had described him as such, but would that be enough? Boyish charm could only get one so far and with a limited number of people, although vampires seem attracted the cute, defenseless human gambit, even if it was for purely cruel reasons.
But what of this vampire?

Cain licked his dry lips. He was so hungry. He could afford to pay the human, but he would never sink that low. Cain shook his head.
"I can offer you a better deal." He gasped.

Quirking an eyebrow a few shades darker that his silvery-white hair, Shea crossed his arms, the vampire's words making him a bit skeptical. A better deal? What on earth was this guy playing at? There was no way he was getting out of paying him!
"Sorry, sweetie. No deal. No bite without the cash," the young man sniffed, dropping his cute demeanor for the moment. This was no time to be coy. This was a matter of life or death. Blood wasn't cheap, after all, and pimps weren't forgiving.

Cain was getting angry. He would not let this human blood whore make him sink so low. He shook his head and growled.
"Fine," he said. "You should know that only desperate vampires pay for blood. I am not desperate and I will never pay someone for a bite. That is just ridiculous." He paused. "I was going to let you stay at my house, but since you won't take the other deal without payment..." Cain turned around. "Then I will just leave."
He didn't have time for games, but if he had to go and hunt then he would. The kill was better anyway.

Shea, torn between insulted and horrified, glared incredulously at the vampire's retreating back. A constant influx of thoughts assaulted his brain, swirling in a never-ending vortex that was just to painful and time-consuming to sift through at the moment. Perhaps that was why the human teenager did what he did next.
"Wait a minute!" As the vampire turned back towards him, Shea's hurt thudded agonizingly against his already bruised ribs. Breathing deeply, he tried to collect himself under the dark-haired man's questioning gaze so that he may speak without sounding like a weak-willed idiot. "Let's hear this so-called 'better deal' of yours."

Cain froze and then pivoted on his foot. He turned around and walked towards Shea. He leaned on the counter with a sly grin on his lips. The man looked devishly handsome, but with evil. He was dark and dangerous, which was one of the reasons why people liked him. And some of the reasons why people stayed away from him. He could smell the bruises on him, the hurt, the pain, and everything the boy wanted to escape from. His hunger burned inside him, but if he could convince this boy to live with him, he wouldn't have to wait very longer. Cain put a hand under his chin and thought for a moment. His dark purple eyes were tinted with a hint of red, showing the true beast inside him. He licked his fangs and then finally got to talking.
"Live with me and you can have whatever is at my house," Cain offered. "though you will be mine forever in return. What do you say boy? Now or never."

His midnight blue eyes widening, Shea stared at the unbelievably alluring vampire before him. He knew what the vampire wanted. He was young, but he was certainly not stupid. The vampire wanted a free meal, a constant walking buffet, and perhaps a body to warm his bed on occasion. While Shea in no way minded this (he had had to put up with a lot worse in his short lifetime), it sort of took him aback. This man had no idea what he was offering him. This man, being a vampire, was only concerned about how this deal would benefit him. Of that, the blood whore was certain. However, what he was offering him, Shea, was...
An impatient clearing of the throat brought the silver-haired young man back to the current reality. Shaking his head to wipe it of muddled, excited thoughts, much like an Etch-A-Sketch, Shea directed his attention back to the dark-haired vampire who was waiting, none-too-patiently for his response. The boy knew he could not seem so eager lest he look like a total fool, he crossed his arms and fixed his lips with a playful smirk, fixing the vampire with a smoldering gaze. "Oooo~! Sounds like fun," he purred, his lips twitching. "But I have to ask: What's in this for you? Besides my blood that is, which I should mention is extraordinarily delicious. Or so I've been told."

This boy was irritating him. What was in it for him? Well a life long supply of blood of coiurse, but the boy had said besides that. So...What was he in it for? Cain was looking for someone to spend the rest of eternity with him. Someone by his side. He had a girl at his house named Elene, but she was stubborn and wasting his time. Sooner or later he would have to force her to Turn Dark.
Cain was not a patient man and the more this whore made him wait, the more irritated he got. Nonetheless, Cain kept his composure and turned his head towards him. His lips were in a twisted smile, deviant. His purple eyes twinkled with madness and he opened his mouth to speak.
"I am looking for someone to be at my side with me," Cain told him. "To take over this damned city, but you are wasting my time. The more hungry I get, the more impatient I get." He paused. "Now would you like to join me or not?"
