Sammy walked in her house. Actually, she was more like pacing. She was nervous about moving to California. There were so many demons and vampires after her; she just didn't know where to run anymore. She looked at her adopted sister Sari--who was actually made with her blood.
Sari was knitting a blanket. It was one of the hobbies she had developed. She also studied many languages to help her sister in her line of work. Including, some demon languages. Sammy smiled at her.
"Let's go out," she said.
Sari nodded and put the knitting material down.
A few minutes later, they were out and about in the local mall. Sammy and Sari kept close. Sammy had to protect her sister at all costs. She was the key to opening up hell. And she wouldn't let the demons or vampires get to her. Even if it costed her own life. They were shopping at Hot Topic.

"Oi. Shoo!" With agitated flaps and complicated twists of wrists, the woman exclaiming the throw out's eyebrows knitted into kitten scowl before she strode back into the store and took her position behind the counter, one of her hands tugging lightly at the collar dangling around her neck. It had been the third time this month that someone had tried to come into Hot Topic just to set a stink bomb for some dumb scavenger hunt.
With a low sigh, the woman's pale blue eyes scanned around the merchandise surrounding her before she went back to folding shirts to put them back in their rack. Her shapely form leaned over the counter momentarily before taking a step back, gliding along with the shirts to the shirt racks, placing them neatly in their corresponding places. After she had been done, her form passed by a mirror causing her to stop and stare at herself. Her skin tone was a pallid ivory, almost withholding no color at all, like white sand in the moonlight. The smokey eyeshadow across her eyelids gave her already hard planes a sort of intimidating accentuation; her lips a shell, plump pink. Her cyberblue dyed hair had been up in two pony tails, two streaks left in the front by cyber goggles, blue and black synthetic dreadfalls cascading from her hair down to her shoulders where they met up with the same shade of blue corset that fell neatly unto a silver stud belt and a short, black skirt. Her legs had been neatly exposed from her thighs down to her knees which met with furry black boot covers that fanned out at the end of her platform shoes.
At first, Asphyxia had not recognized her own figure. She always saw herself plain and simple but these were the days that convinced her she had some vampiric traits in her somewhere. Still gawking at herself, she took a few steps back before bumping into Sammy and her sister. "Oh, sorry." Her firm, alto tone sung.

Sammy smiled at Asphyxia sweetly. "It's alright," she said.
Sari was looking at the clothes dazzily before she realized someone had called her name.
"Huh?" she asked the girl.
Sammy laughed. "No Sari," she said. "She said sorry, she wasn't calling your name."
"I hate my name," Sari complained and then whispered to Sammy in a low voice, "At least the demons could have named something civilized."
Sammy giggled and took another look at Asphyxia. Being The Slayer gave her senses that a human couldn't comprehend. Is she a vampire? She wondered. Impossible, Samantha thought. Unless vampires learned how to suddenly walk in the day...
A girl squealed and ran over to Sari. "Are you Allison Hanningan, from Buffy?" she asked, excitedly.
Sari blushed. "No," she said. "I think you have me confused with someone else."
"You just have one of those faces Sari," said Samantha in a nervous voice.

Asphyxia's eyes studied Sammy and then Sari who thought she had called her name. The shell pink lips disappeared behind her powdery skin before another girl came in, thinking she had recognized the girl from an old show premiered on t.v. a bit ago, causing a light tilt of her head at the denote of falter in her tone, the synthetic hair sliding down her shoulder. "Do you need help finding anything today?" Asphyxia asked all of a sudden, forgetting for a moment she worked here, still having the image of her skin and countenance planted in her mind.

Sammy looked at Asphyxia. "No thank you," she said and noted her unusual pale skin.
No, Samantha told herself. No, there are no vampires that can walk in the day! It's physically impossible!
Sari also noticed the woman's skin. Her blue eyes widened in fear.
Have they come for me? Are they trying to open up Hell again? But it won't work...It simply can't work...No, no, no, no Hell. No demons. No vampires. Hell is bad, and I have to stay away from it. Sari thought and backed up.
Sari made her backing up appear normal, and looked at some clothes. She remained speachless.
Samantha could feel Sari's worry. She touched her sister's shoulder to reassure her. Sari looked up at her and smiled; her mind was at ease.
Samantha knows what she's doing, Sari thought.
The little girl that accused Sari of being Allison Hannigan, left with diappointment. Sari sighed with relief.
That was a close one... she thought.

Asphyxia's polite little smile slowly began to ebb. Not only was she wary about Sammy and Sari's eyes on her, noting things even she had found strange, but there were new voices in her head. The voices had been faint, however, and sort of muffled, like an unwanted ringing and invading thought in her mind. The light furrow of her thin, black eyebrows pulled a little together, creasing the skin on her forehead mildly. Who did this voices belong to?
Taking a step back, Asphyxia touched her hand to one of the shirts. The voices sounded just like the girls she had just talked to, and their smell had hit her like the morning sunlight. I can smell them?! Their scents had become quite powerful in her nostrils slightly flaring them, mouth watering her appetite slightly.
"W-Well if you need anything, just let me know alright?" Her tone sounded a little shaky but perked up all of a sudden, the sweet expressions returning to her before she began to walk away back behind the counter.
What the heck was THAT?!

A small arrow shot threw the window of Hot Topic, shattering the glass. People screamed, and choas erupted.
Sari!! Samantha thought, worried.
She went to grab Sari's arm when she suddenly felt pain in her chest. The arrow...was inside her, near her heart. Samantha gasped and choked. She fell to the ground.
Sari screamed and knelt down next to Samantha. A group of vampire walked inside the shop and smiled at the girls.
"Hello Slayer," the leader sneered.
He was male and dangerous. He looked powerful with the weapons he was holding.

Oh shi--bollocks. Asphyxia saw the arrow rush before her eyes with such intense slow motion, she felt guilty for not being able to stop it with her powers of controlling things. Her body seemed to remain stiff, struck with rigor mortise as these weird looking people assembling fiercely vampires entered the store through the window as everyone bustled about screaming, causing immense trepidation. As her eyes followed the arrow, her ears quickly picked up Sari's voice, the arrow piercing through Sammy. "Oh no." The low tones of the hard planed woman spoke, her lithe form rushing across the store with impressive agility and graceful skill. This day could not get any more crazier than it already had been turning out to be. As she crossed over to check on Sammy, her shapely form compulsively stood protectively over Sari and Sammy and in front of the vampire that called the girl a slayer, her pink lips pulling over her teeth, an impossible hiss bared. Ew, what am I doing?! Why is my body reacting this way?

The leader cocked his head, and narrowed his eyes at Asphyxia. He was confused as to why, a vampire would be protecting such a low life as The Slayer; who hunted their kind fo a living. He straightened.
"Are you protecting The Slayer?" he asked Aspyxia.
Sari looked at them and then looked back at Sammy; she was losing a lot of blood.
"She needs to get to a hospital," she choked. "She's going into shock."

"The slayer?" Asphyxia's tone sounded surprised, as if she hadn't heard that word in that context or known it to exist in the English vocabulary at all. Her exposed shoulders fell back along with the exploding sway of her synthetic hair. Her shell pink lips pulled back over her teeth, trying to hide them as if something made her falter, some kind of realization or something. Sari's voice broke off her momentary falter, though, saying how she was losing so much blood. She didn't need to quite know that, the aroma of salt and rust had saturated the air so fiercely, her nostrils had flared once again. Too bad she couldn't hold her breathing without dying, or at least she thought so. With a cautious step back, Asphyxia tried to intake the permeated air as least as she possibly could, the smell had been sort of tempting and oddly mouth watering. Cursing herself for her weird acting habits, the already intimidating almond shaped eyes narrowed in a piercing glower in the vampire's direction. "What's it to you?"

"This Slayer has killed many of our kind," he said. "Don't tell me you've never heard of The Slayer."
"NO!!" Sari screamed as Samantha's eyes closed. "Sammy, honey, come back!!!"

Asphyxia shook her head. There he went saying our like if she were included in this statement of the people she decided to kill. A sharp pang of pain stung her in the stomach, rattling her frame back into animosity, sloshing the contents in her stomach, causing a cold sting down her spine. What the heck was going on with her? "What do you mean us?" She spoke with such fluid composure, her body kneeling quickly besides Sammy as Sari screamed, the ring penetrating her ears like a heightened sense, bothering her, causing a scowl to ruin the perfect definitions of her face. "Look, I don't have time for this. Why don't we talk about this later, I need to take her to a hospital." The words dropped off from her pink lips came out so quickly spoken, it sounded as one word only, surprising her once again. The flushed hands came underneath the girl, coming into contact with her warm blood, shaking the lithe frame of her body, her blood creating another stinging sensation in her body. After beckoning for Sari to follow, she rushed across everyone else and began to run for it, her legs picking up again with agility she didn't know she really had, aiming for the hospital. Once she got there, she created a quick tantrum to doctors so they would take her in immediately.

The leaded looked at the floor where Samantha used to lay. He hadn't even seen Asphyxia move. She was very fast. He looked at the floor, disappointed. The Slayer would live yet another day. And she would wake up pissed. She would hunt for him and his people the moment she woke up. Her routine would start all over again.
"Oh thank God," Sari said.
Just as he heard Sari spoke, a light bulb went off in his mind. He could use the girl as bait. Sure others have probably done that in the past, but no one has thought of the plan which he conjured up in his mind. He grinned at Sari evilly and snapped his fingers. Sari looked at him and then the men that came at her. She knew little defense. Almost immediately, she was captured. Sari tried to fight back, and failed. After all she was only human; the soul inside her was the key to opening hell. ---------------------------------------------------------------
The doctors rushed to Asphyxia and Samantha. They operated quickly, like bees in hive. Shouting orders at each other left and right, they worked on Samantha. She had hardly any life left, but she had been through worse. Her soul was strong as was her will. In the world of darkness, light shone brightly and Samantha opened her eyes. She was not on Earth she quickly discovered. But Samantha was in Heaven; or close to Heaven. About a year ago she had been banished from Heaven.
An angel stood in front of her. "Samantha," he said softly. "You have to go back; you have to fight. People need you where you belong."
Samantha scoffed and looked at him. "People need me? Your people won't even let me into your home!"
"It is not your time," said the angel.
"It will never be my time! Father banished me!" Samantha screamed.
"Because you were brought back to life," the angel explained. "Once in Heaven, one cannot come out and come back in. That is not what we do. It is unnatural."
"Unnatural my ass," Samantha glared and crossed her arms. "If you let me live--"
"If I let you live," the angel interrupted. "You will not go to Hell. Which one do you want Samantha Tashuni? To live or to go to Hell for the rest of eternity?"
Samantha sighed. "I'll live," she said.
Several Hours Later...
With that the bright light disappeared and Samantha opened her eyes. She found herself in a hospital room, hooked up to a heart monitor and dressed in one of those annoying hospital gowns.

"Hey..." Asphyxia's tone intruded lightly into her flat alto, as quietly as she possibly could as to not startle the poor girl she barely knew. Getting up from her arm chair, the lithe form inched now close to the hospital bed next to the girl. She had to admit, the girl was strong. As her pale blues wheeled across the gown, the thin sheets and the hooked up IV in her veins, the word Slayer blinked back into her mind, shouting loudly into her peripheral, reaching a tangent inside her sanity, causing her to inch away subconsciously and unwillingly as a self-developed defense mechanism. "How are you doing?" Asphyxia intruded again, a hollow nudge inside her mind yelling at her that something was missing, that she had forgotten something that she couldn't bring herself to remember. "The doctor's said you'd live. That was a relief. They patched you up nicely, I made sure." Her distracting voice continued, the thoughts in her mind scattering, going through a slide of images and recently past events to accommodate the puzzle pieces together and comprehend what happened not too long ago before probing at the recovering girl for answers. The words slayer had managed to scare some sense into her, but she managed to shake them away; after all, as far as shew knew, she was a human. The unexplainable events that had happened back at Hot Topic were nothing of her knowledge, she couldn't even make sense of them or conjure some excuse as to why those things had happened. They just happened naturally, as a routine of waking up in the morning and going to the bathroom to take care of hygiene.

Samantha was terribly confused, light headed, and starving. Who was this girl and why was she in the hospital? She closed her eyes and tried to remember. A series of events that previously happened ran through her mind like a home made movie. Picking out clothes at Hot Topic, talking to this girl; she must of worked there or something...An attack at Hot Topic, Sari screaming her name, and finally the arrow going into her heart. She opened her eyes and gasped. She looked around the room and discovered no red head. Where was Sari?
"Where's Sari?" her dry throat croaked.
She didn't mean to be impolite, but if her sister was in danger, she needed to leave now.
