[Atticus]

Nathan look at her face as he tilted his head abit soon realising the she had burns from crying *poor girl, shes not bad looking ethier* he thought "You wasn't joking when you said you have acid touch" he said wanting to run his finger down her tear scars but he didn't "does it hurt? you know when you cry?".

[Miss Gates]

Dakota dared to look at him. Her mind was breaking down, but she kept her calm. She had to be strong; she didn't want to cry...Not if she wanted to the feel the pain.

Dakota slowly nodded. "Every time," her voice broke.

[Atticus]

Nathan looked down "That sucks, i'd be in trouble if it was me" he said looking up now "You seem like quite the strong girl if i was in your shoes id have broke down completely by now" he said carefully "but i have the trouble of that i might destroy someones mind without realising" he said kinda upset.

[Miss Gates]

"You'll learn," said Dakota nonchantly. "To be strong that is. I had to learn to be strong."

She sighed and everything he said soaked into her mind. Some students were coming out of class and she quickly put her mask back on; her escape goat.

"If I didn't learn to not have to cry every time I got hurt," said Dakota. "I would be dead by now."

[Atticus]

Nathan nodded "Yeah your right, maybe i'll learn to control my powers while im at it other wise they'll be the death of me" he said rubbing the back of his head "so erm does this mean were like friends now?" he said realising how stupid he must sound.

[Miss Gates]

Dakota looked at him. "I don't have any friends," she said. "They're dead."

I won't let you die too, she thought. You won't be my fault...

[Atticus]

Nathan looked down abit taken aback by what she said "I lost all my friends when they realised i was gifted including someone i cared about deeply" he said as he let out a sigh "just thought for once that i could be friends with someone who understands what its like to be hated.... that seems unlikely"

[Miss Gates]

Dakota sighed, "Nathan," she touched his shoulder; she was wearing gloves. "I don't want to kill you."

[Atticus]

Nathan looked up at her "I wont die, im differen't besides as long as i dont touch your skin id be fine right?" he said quite hopeful as he looked into her green eyes the purple tint in his shining abit.

[Miss Gates]

Dakota let her hand hall and nodded.

"You should be," she said, agreeing. "We can try to be friends...?"

This concept was new to her. No one ever wanted to be friends with Dakota; not even the outcasts.

[Atticus]

Nathan nodded and smiled "We should watch each others back too" he said quite happy now "you up for going for a walk, i still need to get use to where everything is" he said looking around abit.

[Miss Gates]

Dakota smiled for the first time in a long time; it was a small smile, but it was progress.

"Sure," she said. "I'm new too."

[Atticus]

Nathan laughed a tiny bit "Time to get lost" he said knowing this place was huge "Should we find the Cafeteria first? im kinda hungry" he said holding his stomach as he starts walking.

[Miss Gates]

Dakota nodded, a wee bit nervous with crowds.

"Sure," she said. "I think I know where that is."

She started to lead the way.

[Atticus]

Nathan followed suit "So where you from? a differen't state or country or did you live near here?" he said wanting to get to know her as he looked at differen't people pass by all look kinda differen't in each way, he was sure he saw someone green with purple hair.
