Regina looked down at Samuel and smiled at him. Then she looked at Samantha.
"What did the doctors say?"she asked curiously.

Mack walked in and smiled "Check the love birds" he said and moved to a chair and sat down, moving his head forward abit so his hair covered his eyes.

Samantha's head drooped a little. It took her a while to say anything. She went over and sat on the chair next to Mack and put her head on his shoulder. "Oh, you know, nothing much. He might have a concussion though. It might be-" She cut herself off because Samuel was waking up.
"Watcha talking about?" he asked curiously. Then he looked at his arms which were still around Regina, coughed, and pulled them gently away from her. His cheeks tinged pink under his freckles. "Reg, what were you guys talking about?" he sounded slightly more nervous than before. What if they had been talking about him?

Mack looked up at him his hair still over his eye's "Oh nout much, just what to do when you get out of hospital" he said smiling but his smile looked shakey.

Regina cleared her throat; she was thinking about what Samantha said. Then she looked at Samuel and smiled.
"Yeah what Mack said,"Regina lied. "I was thinking that maybe we could go out to dinner, all of us, and I was asking Samantha what would be apprioate to wear."
It was the biggest white lie she had ever comitted and she felt bad about because she lied to Samuel, her first real boyfriend. Her other boyfriends had been jerks and she never let them touch her. Regina sucked the pain and smiled at Samuel.

"OK. What's really going on? Sis, you're pale as a sheet. I can handle it." He propped himself up on his elbow and draped his other arm around Regina again. Another sear of pain shot through his skull, but he ignored it.

Samantha cleared her throat and looked right at the ground for a very long time. When she looked up again, her eyes were shimmering a bit. She took a deep breath and spoke. "I just talked to Dr. Marshaal. He said you may have a concussion. It might- might" she couldn't continue.
The doctor came in. "It might be fatal."
Samuel stared bewilderedly at his sister, then the doctor, and back again. "What?"
"I'm sorry."
"There must be a mistake. I feel fine."
"Don't work yourself up Sam. It may cause you to fall into a coma."
"Dude, You just told me I might DIE and you expect me to be CALM about it?!" Samuel's head throbbed harder than ever, but he ignored it. He fell back on the bed and buried his face against Regina's back. "This sucks." he said bluntly, then lost consciousness.
((he's now in a coma btw.))

Mack stared at Samuel with wide eyes as he looked down at the ground feeling tears go down his cheek *I can't belive this is happening* he thought to himself

"Samuel?" Samantha looked up. "Sam? Are you okay?" realizing what happened, Samantha jumped up and ran over to her brother. "SAMUEL!" she yelled shaking him genlty to try to wake him.
"Don't touch him." The doctor moved over to where Samuel lay. "I'm sorry miss, but I'm going to have to ask you to move." he said, turning to Regina.

Tears were streaming down Regina's face; she didn't want to move. She didn't want to let anyone near Samuel. She looked up at the doctor and shook her head fiercly. She was scared stiff. Then, her father, Deputy Chief Kline ran inside the room and took Regina in his arms. Regina sobbed on her father.

"This is terrible!" Samantha wailed. She tucked her head against Mack's chest and wept louidly. Then she looked up, hatred clouding her eyes. "They'll pay for this. I swear to God they will."

Samantha looked at Mack and nodded. "Thank you." Unable to stand looking at Regina's father's uniform, Samantha turned around again. "Later, Reggie," she said coldly, not looking at her or her dad. And with that, she walked right out the door and into the hall.
